Kathleen Benson

Kathleen has taught at the Ulster College of music since 1998, working with many talented students over the years. She herself started learning Clarinet aged 14 with the Principal Clarinet of the Ulster Orchestra, and so understands the inspiration that an experienced teacher can have on the developing musician.

Kathleen went on to be educated at the Royal Northern College of Music with noted teachers Sid Fell and Janet Hilton gaining her GRNCM in 1984.

After many years teaching in London and the surrounding counties she returned to Northern Ireland in 1998 – since then she has taught for the Ulster College of Music.
